The Last Month...

...has seen Kalyan in the pool, not to mention all over everything!  He's become quite the explorer, climbing over everything in sight.  We've been visiting several baby proofing websites, needless to say, and can't believe he will be a year old next month!!

Get the Gates!!!

Kalyan has discovered that he does not have to army crawl to get places. In the past week, he has learned to crawl while on his hands and knees (he rocks back and forth in delight about 50% of the time) and has also begun to raise himself up on things. This morning, he attacked the stairs. We can't procrastinate the gate buying trip any longer, but isn't this the most adorable step climber you've ever seen??

Deep in the Heart of Texas....

Kalyan has been hanging out with his Grandpa these past few days.  In Texas!

Texas is now the 10th State that the K-man has traveled to and so far he loves it.  (April in San Antonio and Austin means NO SOCKS for Kalyan!)

His been enjoying the sun, hanging out with Mom and Dad, and seeing some of the Texas sights with Grandpa.  Kalyan will hit another state later this week. 

But for now, he says, "Later, partners."

Stroller fun

Kalyan has had a few trial runs with his new stroller. First with Mommy at IKEA, then with Dida and Dadu in Boston, and just this week with Daddy in JerseyCity.

It's official: he loves it!

Kalyan's Mukhe Bhat!

While K has been eating solids for a little while, it's been made official now that he's had his Mukhe Bhat (rice eating ceremony)!  Here he is taking it easy before the festivities and then being fed by his cousin Wes.  Thanks to his Mashi and Uncle Wil for the lovely photos!

Growing Fast...

These were taken last week. We'll post more when he starts to crawl. He's almost there!!

At the Aquarium

Kalyan enjoyed the sights and sounds of the fish and penguins at the New England Aquarium on Friday!  He was especially fascinated by a slow swimming zebra fish.  The jellies were also rather stare worthy. Next stop: the Bronx Zoo!

Kalyan's Been Bumped!

On January 6 at 2:25 am, Kalyan's Mashi, Cousin Wes, and Uncle Wil welcomed the newest member of the family into the world: Bennett Sumit Harkey!

Welcome, sweet Benny.  Kalyan is already planning your playtime together, and your Mashi and Uncle are just in awe...again.

6 Months!

Kalyan is 6 months old, and sure has experienced a lot for someone so young.  December showed the growing tyke several firsts: a trip to Seattle, Christmas tree, visit from Santa, family reunion in the Pocono mountains, outlet shopping, and starting solids.  He's also rolling over 360 degrees, almost sitting up, and generally being utterly delightful.  He loves Dr. Suess, playing on the iPad, taking baths/showers, and bananas.  He still loves the Ergo carrier, the color red, and kicking his socks off.  Here are a few tidbits from the last month:

Christmas in the Poconos - this handmade towel from Uncle Mark and Aunt Rose was one of MANY, MANY presents Kalyan received.  He made out like a bandit!

Christmas #2 at home.  Uncle Mark and Aunt Kim sent a sled!!

Christmas #3 at Cousin Wes's house!  They had a lot of fun together.  Wes is the best older cousin brother Kalyan could ask for!

The perfect meal.  Mashed bananas.  He's obsessed.

This is War, Carrot Car!

So we were just relaxing on our trip to Seattle, when all of a sudden, this happened.  Kalyan, aka Slobber Sam, found a new way to spend time with Carrot.  Poor bunny.

Bath time!

Just had to upload this. I think we love K's baths more than he does!  What's particularly funny is the song we've come up with to entertain him when we give him a bath....or take him into the shower. It goes:

A bath and a SHOWWWWEERRRR!

The caps denote when our voices get really high and squeaky. He loves it, so I guess we've got the gift!

NJ Transit Meets K Man

Kalyan got to take the commuter train with Daddy last weekend (Nov. 19th, to be exact)! He enjoyed himself immensely, since he hasn't yet seen what it's like on a Monday morning!

Someone's growing....

From earlier this week at Papri Mashi's house. Time really is flying!!

Happy Halloween!

Mom and her friend Sarah were supposed to run the Hobooken 5k this past Saturday, but due to the freak blizzard, they stayed in and had brunch with their husbands and babies instead.  ;)  Kalyan and Penelope got in the spirit of things and the parents went on a frenzied photo session!

Kalyan's Whirlwind Trip...Finally!

Well, it took us a while to get organized, but we finally have some shots from the last couple of months.  Enjoy!!

Kalyan visited Papri Mashi, Uncle Wil, and cousin Wes for the first time back in August!  He was so content to chill out in Mashi's embrace!

When Kabi Kaku came to move Sharmi (Mishti Mashi) out of NJ in August, K got to spend some quality time with a new Dadu!!

Mommy's good friend Jessica has two gorgeous children, Zoe and Stephen.  Here's Zoe curling up with Kalyan on a very warm August day when we all decided it was better to stay in.  Zoe got to push K in his stroller and start explaining the what's what of  surviving being the child of singers!
